Can anyone think of a way to determine, even approximately, the file
space taken up by individual pages within a multi-page PDF document?
(Other than extracting out all the individual pages as separate files
and looking at the space they occupy -- and I do understand that a PDF
document includes more than just the sum of its individual pages.)
Reason for asking: I sometimes embed largish jpeg or tiff files into PDF
documents where these image files are at much higher resolution than the
PDF document really needs, doing this because the PDF itself may become
what I keep as the master file for the original image.
This means the PDF document may become excessively large, and I
sometimes want to look back at an older document of this type and see
which are the real villains among its contents.
