Subject:PDFs Won't Launch from Excell

Hi Group
I have used Excell to keep track of my ebook collection using the =HYPERLINK
command to the cell containing the address, for example:
H:\My Documents - PC\My eBooks\vehicle registration letters.pdf
This has worked fine (I have over 3000 ebooks) until recently.
When trying to launch a pdf (from Excel) I get the message:
"No program registered to open this file"
This seems to have happened after I downloaded Adobe Reader 8, Installed PDF
Creator 0.9.5 and an abortive attempt to install Acrobat Professional 7 on
my laptop.
I don't know if my recently moving all my ebooks to an external harddrive is
anything to do with it?
Files open OK in Windows Explorer.
Other format files launch fine, exe, doc and zip etc.
Regards, Ron
