pdf Indexing Software

Subject:pdf Indexing Software

I was wondered by the effective indexing of pdf and other file formats
at "www.scribd.com"
I have a lots of encyclopedic reference texts and technical documents
in pdf format (related to many fields) on my computer.I basically
wanted to index them all and search among them.
I dont want an index of the filename and author only but also to build
an index of the contents of the file.
Can anyone suggest a freeware for doing this ??

The swish-e web site indexer can be used in stand-alone mode and has
plugins to index Word and PDF files.
