Hi,
I have downloaded a file that is supposed to be pdf but its icon is
somewhat different from a regular pdf file. It looks like the standard
pdf icon but with a picture of a hand extended from left to right on
it. It also has a red band on top with the letters "PDF" shown inside
the red band. Th eextension of the file is .pdf but when I double
click it nothing happens. Also when I right click it, the standard
right click for other files does not show and a minimal menu opens
which does not include the "properties" entry. There is a rename entry
in this menu but when I try to rename the file it says "cannot rename:
cannot read from the source file or disk".
Can anyone tell me what type of file this is and how I can view it?
Thanks,
Per

First of all, what should happen depends on for example the operating
system, about which you leave us guessing.
But... is the extension really .pdf? Check again; you may have the
extensions hidden and the filename might really be for example xxxx.pdf.exe
or whatever.
But whatever you do, double check your system for viruses right now...
